As the 2024/25 season draws to a close, we take the opportunity to shine a well-deserved spotlight on the incredible journey of our CHARS Youth FC U14s – a team that has captured the spirit of grassroots football through hard work, unity and sheer determination.

Under the outstanding leadership of Coach Dan Edwards, this group of players has delivered a campaign filled with memorable performances, personal development, and moments of pure joy on the pitch. From the very first whistle, they have shown what can be achieved when talent meets discipline, and when a group of young people come together with a shared purpose.

A Team That Plays with Pride

This has been a season defined by consistency, camaraderie and courage. The CHARS U14s have displayed maturity far beyond their years – always giving their best, regardless of the opposition or the conditions. Whether it was a tough away fixture or a big home occasion, they have played with heart, intelligence, and a genuine love for the game.

Their progress has been evident not only in results but in the way they carry themselves – respecting opponents, listening to their coaches, supporting one another, and representing the CHARS Youth badge with dignity and pride.

Coach Dan Edwards: The Architect Behind the Success

Much of this success can be credited to the dedication and vision of Coach Dan Edwards. Dan has been more than a coach – he’s been a mentor, motivator and role model. His sessions have combined technical detail with tactical awareness, always delivered in a way that brings the best out of every player.

His ability to manage individuals while building a strong team ethos is exceptional. Whether encouraging a player who needs confidence or challenging one who’s ready for the next step, Dan has struck the perfect balance. The players respect him, trust him, and continue to thrive under his guidance.

O Abrahamson: A Season to Remember

Among the many standouts, one player who has consistently lit up the pitch is O Abrahamson, whose phenomenal record of 33 goals in 22 games is a testament to his instinct, composure and relentless drive. O has been a constant threat to defences all season, combining sharp finishing with intelligent movement and a superb work ethic.

But more than just a goal-scorer, O reflects the values of the team – humble, hardworking, and always putting the group first. His success is mirrored in the performances of his teammates, who have all played their part in what has been a complete squad effort.

Looking the Part – Playing the Part

Thanks to the support of the Royal Mail Kits4Kids programme, the team has taken to the pitch this season in fantastic new kits – smart, professional, and worn with pride. More than just a uniform, the kit has helped strengthen the team’s identity and foster a sense of belonging that’s vital in youth football.

The boys have not only looked the part – they’ve played the part, too. From brave tackles at the back to dazzling dribbles in attack, they’ve put on performances to be proud of week in, week out.

Thank You to Our CHARS Community

None of this would be possible without the unwavering support of parents, volunteers, and the wider CHARS Youth FC family. Your encouragement, commitment and presence on the touchlines have helped fuel the players every step of the way.

To the boys – your development this season has been inspiring. You’ve entertained, improved, and grown both as footballers and as young people. Your effort and team spirit have been second to none, and we are all proud of what you have achieved.

As one season ends, another begins – and if this year has shown us anything, it’s that the future of CHARS Youth FC is in excellent hands.

Well done to every single member of the CHARS U14 squad – you’ve done yourselves, your coach, and your club proud.

COYC! 💙💛
