We are thrilled to announce the triumphant completion of the 2024 TCS London Marathon by two incredible members of our CHARS Youth FC family: our Chairman, Joe Westmacott, and Jack Meggison, dad of Zach in our u9 Yellows. Their dedication, perseverance, and sheer determination have left us all in awe, and we couldn't be prouder of their remarkable achievement.

Joe Westmacott: A Marathon Journey

In the words of Joe himself, "Thank you to everyone for their kind words and support throughout. I have loved every minute of it, but the way I am feeling this morning, I think it’s time to hang up the running shoes." Joe's journey has been one of courage, resilience, and unwavering commitment to supporting the National Deaf Children's Society. His determination to make a difference has inspired us all, and his decision to run in support of such a worthy cause speaks volumes about his character.

As Joe hangs up his running shoes, we extend our heartfelt congratulations and gratitude for his incredible efforts. To everyone who supported Joe along the way, whether through donations, words of encouragement, or simply cheering him on from the sidelines, your contribution has made a meaningful impact. Let's continue to rally behind Joe and his cause, celebrating his remarkable achievement and the difference he's made in the lives of deaf children.

Jack Meggison: A Journey of Triumph

Jack Meggison's marathon journey has been nothing short of extraordinary. With determination in his heart and the support of his family, friends, and the CHARS Youth FC community, Jack took on the challenge with unwavering resolve. In his own words, "I have never experienced anything quite like it in my life. The support from family, friends, and complete strangers was simply incredible."

Completing the marathon in an impressive time of 4:29:10, Jack exceeded his goal and left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who cheered him on. His dedication to raising funds for Whizz-Kidz, coupled with his tenacity and spirit, exemplifies the true essence of community and compassion.

As we celebrate Jack's remarkable achievement, let's extend our sincerest thanks to everyone who supported him along the way. Your encouragement, generosity, and unwavering support have made a difference in the lives of wheelchair users across the UK.
